If you are lucky like me you receive darling Christmas cards filled with the cute faces of your friends and family. And also, like me you wonder what you should do with them the next year. This year I decided to turn the 2012 collection of cards into paper ornaments to give back to the families for there trees. Fun, right?
Step 1 Choose a piece of thick scrapbook paper that goes with your picture, cute the paper to the desired shape and size. I found a little pack of scrapbook journal cards at Michaels. These cards seemed to be the perfect size. Love them!
Step 2 Cut photo down to your desired size. Add glue or Mod Podge to the back side of photo, flip it over, and add it to the piece scrapbook paper.
Step 3 Punch a hole in the top of the card.
Step 4 Stamp the year on the card using a numbered stamp set and black ink pad.
Step 5 Cover your workspace with a piece of freezer paper. Coat entire card photo and scrapbook paper with Mod Podge. Allow to dry for 24 hrs. Repeat Mod Podge coating on the back side of card allow to dry for 24 hrs.
Step 6 Once the card has completely dried thread a coordinating ribbon or string through the holes you punched in step 3.
Step 7 Mail ornament to original sender to enjoy for years to come :).
