This recipe is one of my favorites! My sister-in-law Melissa is an AMAZING cook and baker. She makes TONS of delicious things (that turn out perfectly every time!) this is just one of them. Too bad for you guys she’s not closer…she could be our resident blog baker!

What you need:

1 yellow boxed cake mix

1  can (20 ounces) of cherry pie filling

1 stick of butter

1 can(20 ounces) of pineapple juice

9 x 13 baking dish

Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.


Pour pineapple juice into the 9 x 13 baking dish.


Add can of cherry pie filling, mix until cherry filling and pineapple juice are well mixed.


Melt 1 stick of butter in the microwave. Add melted butter to a large mixing bowl. Add dry cake mix.


Mix until there is now more powder. The mixture should be clumpy.


Sprinkle butter & cake mixture evenly over the top of the cherry pie filling/ pineapple mixture. Bake for 60 minutes at 325 degrees.


60 minutes later you should have something resembling this beauty. Let cool 10- 15 minutes (unless your the type that enjoys scolded tongue).


Enjoy! Top with whip cream or vanilla ice cream.
