Cinnamon & Sugar Popcorn

Cinnamon-Popcorn

So, you know how somedays you need a sweet treat but you don’t want to open the bag of Oreo cookies for fear of finding yourself with an empty bag 10 minutes later? Well, that is exactly where I found myself the other day. So into the pantry I headed….this is what I came up with, it is addicting. Maybe I should have stuck with the Oreo cookies!

It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s budget friendly!

What you need:

-1/4 Cup of whole popcorn kernels (unpopped)

-1 Tbsp of ground cinnamon

-1/4 Cup of white sugar

-1/2 Tbsp of butter

-1 brown paper lunch sack

Place 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels in the brown paper lunch sack.

Fold over the top – two or three times

Place bag in the microwave – cook for 2-3 minutes. Be sure to listen to the popping. Once the popping slows to about 10 second intervals, stop the microwave. Remove the bag. (you may not need the full 3 minutes – if you let it go until the microwave stops, you may end up with burnt popcorn and one smelly house!)cp-paper-sack

Mix 1Tbsp of cinnamon and 1/4 cup of sugar in a small bowl. Mix until well combined.cp-cin-sug

Pour popped popcorn into a large bowl.

Melt 1/2 Tbsp of butter in a microwave safe dish. Varies based on microwave – about 30-40 seconds. cp-melt-butter
