Monday – Friday  through August 31, visit the Cerreta Candy Company  – eat 4 free samples and make a chocolate pizza. Tours begin at 10:00 AM & 1:00 PM. $10, use coupon code tour13 for 25% off.  Located at: 5345 W. Glendale Avenue, Glendale.

Monday – Saturday  9:00 AM – 5:00 PM – visit the Hall of Flame museum.  Adults $6, Seniors 62+ $5, students (6-17) $4, children 3-5 $1.50, children under 3 Free.  The Hall of Flame Fire Museum has almost an acre of fire history exhibits, with over 90 fully restored pieces of fire apparatus on display, dating from 1725 to 1969. Most of the exhibits are American, but there are also pieces from England, France, Austria, Germany, and Japan.

Monday – Sunday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily – visit the new Butterfly Wonderland, a “highly innovative, indoor rainforest environment featuring the largest butterfly pavilion in America”. The entrance fee is $18.95 + tax per adult, $9.95 + tax per child (ages 3 to 11) , and $16.95 + tax for students, military (with ID) and seniors (62+). Children 2 and under are free. Group and School Tour Rates are also available. Cameras, strollers are welcome.

Now through Thursday, Sept 5 – Plan a Stay-cation at JW Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, starting at $149 with golf/ credit. Play in the pools, the popular Lazy River,  while the kids enjoy free food, you enjoy the free internet and even a round of golf for you or dad!

Saturday, August 10 from 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM Phoenix Zoo’s Prowl & Play series, admission is $8 (regularly $10-$20). More details at phoenixzoo.org or 602-273-1341.

Saturday, August 10 at 1:00 PM catch Disney’s 1950’s version of “Cinderella” at the Tempe History Museum.  Visit http://www.tempe.gov/ for a full list of movies playing through the month of August.

Saturday, August 10 at 8 PM – Dry Heat Comedy Night at Goodyear ballpark. Be sure to bring your chair and treats. Or you can always buy your treats there.

Enjoy a day hike, located just outside Flagstaff, the Aspen Loop. Difficulty rating – easy, up to an hour. Be sure to bring your camera and plenty of water. Be sure to check for unplanned closures – 928-526-0866.
